About Us

Our Blog Focus

Us six ladies are freshmen at Michigan State University who all have majors relating to education. Our hope for this blog is to inform our readers on the different aspects of education, as well as share our personal stories relating to the field.

Meet The Team!

Jessica Lusky

Hi, my name is Jessica Lusky and I am a Human Development and Family Studies major from West Bloomfield, Michigan.  I am interested in many aspects of the major ranging from the development of young children to family law.  I have always been passionate about helping others in the community which led me to choose this major. I hope to attend a two-year grad program abroad and become a family law mediator after undergraduate school.  In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, traveling, listening to country music, and spending time with my family and friends!

Maddie Brosky

Hey, my name is Maddie! I am from St. Clair Michigan. And come from a very large Italian family. I have two brothers and one sister. One of my brothers is actually my twin and he goes to U of M. I am obsessed with dogs, I myself have three German Shepherds that I adore. I love playing basketball, volleyball and a huge for of working out. I am a Special Education/ Elementary Education major with a specialization in Language Arts. I chose a field in Education because of my love and patience with kids. My hopes for when I become a teacher are that I can show students an enjoyable way of learning and help them understand why education is so important.

Riss Willwerth
Hey! My name is Riss and I'm from Saline, Michigan. Michigan State was my number one choice for college because of the education program. I am a Special Education/Elementary Education major and an Art History minor. I hope to teach Special Education for high schoolers, art or kindergarten. I have one brother who is a sophomore and a husky named Niko whom I adore. In my free time at school, I hang with friends, watch girly Netflix shows, read and work. I work at Eastminster Child Development Center off Hagadorn. I am very blessed to already have the opportunity to work with kids weekly. My hobbies include photography, yoga, going to concerts, shopping, and hanging with friends. I also model and am signed with John Casablancas in Plymouth. It is hard to balance now that I am away for school, without a car. I do not know where I want to go with that but it is definitely a huge passion of mine. I am most excited about my degree because I cannot wait to help and teach others.

Seneca Barker
Hi, I'm Seneca and I'm from Williamston, Michigan. I was actually a Michigan fan up until I transferred to Michigan State the second semester of my freshman year, but I have quickly fallen in love with this school (go green!). I'm here at MSU to major in Special Education. I have a younger brother on the autism spectrum which greatly influenced the decision of my major. My plan is to continue on to grad school at Michigan State to specialize in autism so I can teach kids just like him. In my free time, I'm either working as a Biggby barista, watching baseball, going to country concerts, or spending time up north at the cabin with my boyfriend and his three amazing golden retrievers.

Andrea Thanos
Hey, everyone, my name is Andrea Thanos and I am from Medinah, Illinois which is a Northwest suburb of Chicago! I am currently a freshman at Michigan State University where I'm studying secondary education with a focus in social studies. Growing up, I was surrounded by teachers; my mother, and several of my aunts. Whenever my parents, teachers, or friends would ask me what I wanted to be when I was older, I would always reply with the same answer, a teacher. Before I could give it a second thought, I was a senior in high school about to graduate and still wanted to pursue a career where I would be able to interact with new, friendly faces every day knowing I was making a difference in children’s lives. My goal as an educator is to leave my students feeling as if I, as their teacher, care about their success and making their educational experience as enjoyable as I possibly can. A few other things about me, are that I have been swimming since the age of seven, am a coffee fanatic, and love traveling around the world (even though Chicago is about as good as it gets).

Megan Ross
Hey, my name is Megan and I am from Waterford, Michigan. I went to a small high school where I played basketball, volleyball, softball and soccer. I love sports! I have been a Spartan my whole life because both of my parents graduated from MSU. I have an older brother, an older sister, and a younger brother. Family is everything to me. I have a yellow labrador named Gracie whom I adore. In my free time, I like reading and writing, hanging out with my friends, shopping, movies, concerts and getting slurpees. I love warm weather and the beach. During the summers I work at an ice cream place. I am studying English with a secondary education track because I want to be a high school English teacher.
